Description

In 1982, while not having a slew of Top five hits as she had back when when she debuted, she still had a very stable career as a singer (at this point, I don't think she was a full-fledged idol anymore). She was eventually tasked to create the opening theme for a TV series named "Tuesday Suspense Theater". It wasn't meant to be released as a full song, but due to demand from fans, she recorded it, but was only meant to be available through a sweepstakes. However, due to the amount of people who applied to just take a listen to it, her record label, Victor, decided to release it as a publicly available single instead. With that, she was given her third and final number-one hit on the Oricon charts.

Two studio versions were made, the initial version made for TV (which was then included in her next studio album released a few months after) and the single version which became a hit. The big difference between these two versions are easy to spot, especially in the intro where it feels more ambient in the TV version compared to the typical poppy intro of the single version. The TV version is also a bit more laid-back in terms of the instruments present as the single version would include overdubs (the most prominent being the lead guitar which overpowered the synth, especially during the instrumental bridge and outro of the new version).

With that, I made a mash-up of the two which highlights the differences of the two versions. For fun, I segued the intro of the single version to the intro of the TV version, and also extended the outro as each version has its own oddities as well. Enjoy one of her masterpieces! :)

そこで、2 つのバージョンの違いを際立たせる 2 つのバージョンのマッシュアップを作成しました。 シングル版のイントロをTV版のイントロに合わせたり、バージョンごとに変な部分があるのでエンディングを延長したりして楽しみました。 彼女の代表作をお楽しみください！ :)
