I've heard this opera over and over again on the radio as far as I can remember. I remember hearing it played on the gramophone at friends' homes, subsequently on casettes and CDs. I remember watching it on the big screen countless times, watching it on VCD and then DVD. I can almost repeat or recite certain parts word for word and sing along. I've never seen it performed live though. It is such a treat coming across this post and watching it here.
