Description
Movie: “Roberta” (RKO), starring Irene Dunne, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Randolph Scott, and Helen Westley.
Audio from CD source, the original 78rpm single was issued on Victor 24871 - Lovely To Look At (Oscar Hammerstein II-Dorothy Fields-Jimmy McHugh-Jerome Kern) by Eddy Duchin & his Orchestra, vocal by Lew Sherwood, recorded in Camden NJ February 15, 1935. This #1 “Hit Parade” tune, not included in the original 1933 stage production of “Roberta,” was written for the 1935 film treatment. “Roberta” marked the third on-screen pairing for Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, though in supporting roles to top-billed Irene Dunne. Such secondary status for the duo ended for good with the release of their next film “Top Hat” later in the year.
