Description
A Lover’s Concerto (Linzer-Randell) by The Toys, conducted by Charles Calello, a Bob Crewe production
This familiar melody originated as the ‘Minuet in G major’ by German composer and organist Christian Petzold (1677-c.1733). Because the music was found in the 1725 ‘Notebook for Anna Magdalena’ compilation of pieces by various composers (some anonymous) assembled by Johann Sebastian Bach’s second wife Anna Magdalena Bach, it was long thought by many to have been composed by Bach himself.
Pop Chart Peaks: Cash Box & Record World 1, Billboard 2 - R&B Chart: 4
