Description
The complete LP version ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oBm9snFqnk ) includes an introductory verse which takes it a full minute longer than the hit 45 to reach the main melody. Composed by Charlie Chaplin for his movie “A Countess In Hong Kong” (but heard only instrumentally in the film), “This Is My Song” was notable for having been recorded by Clark in Los Angeles with Ernie Freeman and The Wrecking Crew as opposed to her usual UK writer-conductor Tony Hatch. For the interesting back-story on the song & Petula’s reluctant role, see this Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Is_My_Song_(1967_song)
