Description
Inspired by Chopin's Prelude in C minor, Opus 28, Number 20, this was Barry's second of three different recorded versions of “Could It Be Magic” released on a 45 single.
1971 - as lead vocalist with Featherbed (a group of studio session musicians) in a bright ‘pop’ arrangement by producer Tony Orlando and with different lyrics (Bell label): https://youtu.be/D8PCj8mgG5U
1973 - this slower 7:17 post, also on Bell, co-produced by Barry with Ron Dante and including partially new lyrics
1975 - the hit Arista single ( https://youtu.be/8Evnf1dL1qU ), edited from the 6:50 Arista LP track ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc5XtkZSH-Q ) which was newly recorded but with an arrangement similar to the 1973 Bell version.
The flip side of this Manilow single is "Cloudburst": https://youtu.be/-619R9oF_GY
Transferred from mono 45 single Bell 45,422 - Could It Be Magic (Barry Manilow-Adrienne Anderson) by Barry Manilow, arranged & conducted by Barry Manilow, produced by Barry Manilow & Ron Dante
