Description
Backed by the MFSB studio musicians, this was the Spinners’ third straight single to top Billboard’s R&B chart (“I’ll Be Around” and “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love” came previously).
Because some people with either hearing deficiencies or other motives claimed that the line “you just gotta hug her” at 2:39 was actually saying something different, an edited issue of the commercial 45 was also pressed with the timing shown as 3:20 (listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJr3jSscXps ).
Pop Chart Peaks: Cash Box 8, Record World 9, Billboard 11 - R&B Peak: 1 - A/C Peak: 19
Transferred from stereo 45 single Atlantic 2962 - One Of A Kind (Love Affair) (Joseph B. Jefferson) by The Spinners, produced, arranged & conducted by Thom Bell .
