Speedy Plans on Taking “Ah Piece Ah De Road” for Culturama 44
Nevisian talent is what’s on display with “A Piece Ah De Road”; the new track by Jevaun “Speedy” Jeffers and The Kore.
Built around Speedy's first “long jam experience”, in 2017, the hot, new soca song is pregnant with possibilities. It may be the most popular Groovy song for Nevis’ 44th Culturama celebration (this year), a promotional pitch for The Kore's marketing of the “long jam experience” or even the most requested track on radio stations in the diaspora...who knows? Let's do a check in nine months to see the result of this pregnancy!
Produced by Cory “Masablue” Tyson and The Kore Team, the track features Speedy's lead vocals and backup vocals by another rising Nevisian artiste; Nayala Daniel. In expressing thanks, Speedy also lauds the instrumentality of Ras Binghi and Black Circle Studio. Of course you would Speedy...you did spend hours there perfecting this song.
While Speedy didn't reveal much about the song's concept, he recalled working with Masablue, on a Friday afternoon, to craft the lyrics. According to him, “Masablue said we have to beat the iron while it's hot.”
Whether you're a fan of soca music specifically or music in general, “A Piece Ah De Road” is sure to have you singing along in no time. In the shower, on your way to work, at work, at home during Saturday cleaning are all places where you’ll find yourselves singing “ah taking ah piece ah de road and I'll be jamming jamming jamming outta control.”
We're still months away from Culturama 44 and The Kore Team is already on firhey keep this up, they may very well take more than “a piece ah de road”.
