One of the loveliest moments for families and friends in Ireland is when someone asks for a party-piece. The guitar comes out or people sit around the piano and the music starts. Sometimes, these can be heart-stopping moments, when a singer or a song transcends the everyday, and becomes something else – a special expression of our common humanity – that conveys feelings of hope, of love or solidarity. Itv is this uniquely Irish sense of song as a form of togetherness that we wanted to celebrate in Have A Good One.

In these specially recorded videos, four Irish women singers record special songs – in Dublin, London, Kildare and Berlin! – that evoke the spirit of the season for listeners, whether you’re at home thinking of Ireland – or away and dreaming of it.
