Description
This piece was first time performed by Roland Dyens , in 2011 at Ravello Festival Guitar Corner (I organized his concerts in that festival).
The guitar I'm playing here is a Burlot Maitre built by Bastien Burlot on purpose for Roland Dyens. (The model is similar to the Gerard Audirac Cathedral.
The rythm is a slow and sad HABANERA , Dyens infact was very fond of the Tango by Albeniz (for which he provided an excellent new adaptation for the guitar ) as well as of the famous aria " HABANERA" by Bizet (Opera "Carmen") . Therefore this BLACK DAWN title (ALBA-NERA) is a combination of he words HABA-NERA mixed up with the italian word for DAWN : ALBA and BLACK : NERO or NERA
Needless to say that Dyens perfectly spoke Italian. :-)
