Description
Track 7 from their eleventh studio album and fourteenth release “Where It All Begins” copyright 1994 Sony Music. The album was recorded live in the studio and achieved Gold status in 1997. This would be the last studio album to feature original member Dickey Betts. Shortly after the release of the live album "Peakin' At The Beacon" in 2000, he was asked by the other members to leave until he cleaned up his act. He had been increasingly difficult to work with due to his attitude and level of substance abuse. Feeling unfairly treated, he sued the band, making the split permanent, and received an undisclosed cash settlement. Written by Dickey Betts and produced by Tom Dowd. RIP Tom Dowd, Allen Woody, Butch Trucks, Gregory Lenoir Allman & Dickey Betts. Featuring:
Gregg Allman – Lead vocals, Hammond B-3 organ & piano
Dickey Betts – Lead vocals, lead, rhythm & acoustic guitars
Warren Haynes – Lead vocals, lead, slide & rhythm guitars & background vocals
Allen Woody – Bass & background vocals
Jai Johanny Johanson – Drums, percussion & background vocals
Butch Trucks – Drums, percussion & background vocals
Marc Quinones – Congas & percussion
Well, I love you baby but you won't give me the time of day
Well, I love you baby but you won't give me the time of day
Treat me so bad but I love you anyway
Early in the mornin' sun begins to rise
Early in the mornin' sun begins to rise
Call out your name, wring my hands and cry
Got me runnin', don't know what to do
There won't be much of me when you get through
Down on the bottom, nothin' left to lose
Lord I got 'em, mean woman blues
Well, I love you baby but you don't even know my name
Well, I love you baby but you don't even know my name
Don't care about me, love you just the same
Now, someday baby, take you by the hand
Yeah, someday baby, take you by the hand
You be my lovin' child, I'll be your lovin' man
Yeah, you got me runnin', don't know what to do
There won't be much of me when you get through
Down on the bottom with nothin' left to lose
Lord I got 'em, mean woman blues
Got me runnin', don't know what to do
There won't be much of me when you get through
Down on the bottom with nothin' left to lose
Lord I got 'em, mean woman blues
