Alte Kameraden (Romanian Vechi camarazi) is a popular German march. In the catalog of German military music it has the code HM II, 150.
"Alte Kameraden" was written around 1889 in Ulm by Carl Teike (de / en), a composer of military music. Presenting the march to his superior, he received the answer “We have enough marches. Throw it in the stove! ” Not only was the march not burned, but it became one of the most sung German military marches, including after World War II, when German military music was disapproved. It also enjoys international popularity, being the very march of the Chilean Air Force.
