Description
20 years ago this week, the world saw the largest-ever anti-war demonstration in history, as people in all seven continents rallied against the threat of U.S. invasion in Iraq. At the time, Democracy Now! featured this speech made in front of United Nations headquarters in New York City by legendary activist Angela Davis. In the days after the February 15 and 16 protests, then-U.S. President George W. Bush declared that global public opinion would not sway U.S. policy. The U.S. military would commence its invasion just a month later.
