Description
Performed as a popular song by a wide range of singers, (sometimes pleasantly, sometimes only adequately, and many times not so well), this, in my opinion, is the best recording of this song in a popular music style. From the operetta, "New Moon". A #3 hit for Paul Whiteman in 1929, #6 for the Arden-Ohman Orchestra in 1929, #9 for Rudy Vallee and His Connecticut Yankees in 1929, #20 for Perry Askam in 1930, #9 for Al Hibbler in 1949, #16 for Nat King Cole and Billy May and His Orchestra in 1953, and #95 for the Cleftones in December 1962.
Sung by Nelson Eddy and Jeannette MacDonald in the 1940 film version of "New Moon" (I love their operatic version too).
Recorded March 15, 1929.
The other side of this record is "You Wouldn't Fool Me, Would You?".
