It's hardly surprising that Arlo Guthrie, son of folk hero and icon Woody Guthrie and wife Marjorie would choose a musical path and write songs about social injustices while poking fun at the Establishment. This rare early footage from 1969 of Arlo has him performing his Motorcycle Song, daft lyrics lampooning conventional wisdom, yet resonating with the counter-culture. Arlo would soon become world famous for his cover of Steve Goodman's City Of New Orleans and his own fabulous Alice's Restaurant
