Here are some common mistakes made while shampooing hair:

❌Applying shampoo on slightly damp hair
✅You must soak your hair completely wet, Dripping with water, before you apply shampoo. This way less amount of shampoo will be required and it will lather more easily. You will require less force and manipulation of form foam hence it’s gentle in the hair. Make sure you soak your hair implement before shampoo

❌Washing shampoo off too quickly
✅Shampoos contain ingredients which break the sebum down and help in cleaning the scalp. You have to let the shampoo sit on your scalp for a 3-5 minutes for the ingredients to work. This will clean the scalp more effectively

❌Applying shampoo only on top of scalp.
✅Shampoo should be applied on the entire scalp. We tend to use a dollop on the top and barely any product on the back of scalp. This is the area where you see dandruff and even lice infestation. Make sure you later the shampoo over the entire scalp.

❌Using only medicated shampoo
✅Use medicated shampoo first and then follow up with regular shampoo. Medicated shampoos are prescribed for dandruff, seborrhoea dermatitis, psoriasis etc. These are formulated to reduce flaking of the scalp but are not cosmetically elegant. They may leave your hair feeling dry and frizzy. Always use a regular shampoo and conditioner after the medicated shampoo to restore shine and smoothness.
