I first met Hari & Sukhmani at a wedding, over a decade ago in Chandigarh. They were electric and perfectly in sync, and from the very first note, I knew I’d found something special. Every time I’ve heard them since, I’ve had the same instinct: to put the camera down and just dance. So, for my own wedding, that’s exactly what I did.

Baagay means the world to Nikki and me. It’s joyful, it’s Punjabi, it’s rooted in tradition, and Hari & Sukhmani’s rendition has this playful lyric about a mustache and a beard. Fitting, because, true story: I grew my beard just because she asked me to.

At The Wedding Filmer, we usually compose our own music, crafting original scores that reflect love. But every once in a while, a song comes along that already feels like it was written for you. Baagay was one of those songs.

Our studio, TWF Studios, is our garden. Quite literally. It’s a space we built from the ground up, tended with love, pruned for protection, and watched it bloom over the years. It felt only right to celebrate our wedding here, surrounded by the fiercely loyal, wildly talented, inherently kind people who helped shape it.

The lyrics of Baagay invite you into a garden. Ours may not be big enough to hold the whole world, but this music video is our invitation, a glimpse into a space where our love lives and memories grow.

Directed by ace choreographer and dear friend, Kavya G, and shot by my trusted cinematographer Kashi, the film brings together fireflies, butterflies, roses, and all things nice. It’s a world where love is in full bloom.

And to the voice that made this bloom even more beautiful, Happy Birthday Sukhmani.❤
