Backstreet Boys Pay Tribute to Aaron Carter at London Show
The Backstreet Boys paid tribute to Aaron Carter, the younger brother of band member Nick Carter, at a show in London on Sunday night, November 6.
Aaron Carter was reportedly found dead at his southern California home on November 5. He was 34.
Nick Carter took to Twitter on Sunday to say his heart was “broken” at the news.
“Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed,” Carter said.
“Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness are the real villains here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you baby brother.”
This footage shows the Backstreet Boys dedicating a song to Aaron on Sunday night. “We lost one of our family members yesterday,” Kevin Richardson can be heard saying. “He was a part of our family and we thank you guys for all the love and all the well wishes and all the support.”
As Richardson was speaking Carter appeared to wipe his eyes with his hand as other members of the band walked over to hug him. Storyful's Grace Cannon has the story.
