This year, 2021, Jeffrey Shield is 7 and starts learning Grade 4 in October. He started learning the piano (in September 2020) at 6 years old. In the 12 months of his piano learning journey, Jeffrey performed 10 on stage piano concerts. He passed the AMEB Grade 1 exam in May 2021 with the highest possible mark (High Distinction A+). In May 2021, he raised AU$1500 and donated it to Myanmar (Burma), where people fought for freedom and democracy from the military coup. In September 2021, Jeffrey won the Second Prize at the Recital & Concerto Competition held by the West Australian Music Teachers’ Association. Again, he donated the cash prize from this competition to the people in Myanmar.
