Description
Etude, Op. 89, No. 4 by Hermann Berens
Piano music tends to put a lot of attention on what is happening in the right hand, as it is the hand that's ideally positioned to play prominent musical elements such as the melody (and also because most people are right handed). However, a great deal of advanced repertoire features intense and elaborate left hand material, such that it benefits all pianists to put in some work to try and target their left hands for improvement. Enter the solo left hand piece, which is specifically written to workout the left hand. In many cases, such as the piece for this lesson, the left hand is playing all on its own, and the player is able to fully concentrate on improving it. Liberty Park Music piano teacher West Troiano instructs.
