Description
Guitar cover and comics digital animation design I did for "Symptom of the Universe".
This song by Black Sabbath, from their 1975 album Sabotage - a magnificant masterpiece album. Majority of fans call it the first Thrash Metal song ever, which influenced thousands of musicians and bands for more than three decades.
"Symptoms of the Universe" is about Love, and with the title I drew up inspiration: Everytime I hear it with "Hole in the Sky" (from the same album) the story of the Silver Surfer always come to mind. The story is about a man who gave himself up to evil power in order to save the woman he loves and his home planet from immenent death and extermination.
Initially the idea for the video when I decided to play a cover this song to have a fully animated video telling the story of Silver Surfer, with lots of references to the 70's style in inking and colouring comics from that period. In a way I wanted to pay tribute to the great writers and artists from that era. Unfortunately due to limited time I decided to use few from the material.
Silver Surfer was originally created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in the comic book Fantastic Four #48, published in 1966. Comics images used in the video originally copyrighted to their owners
