Probably Fats Domino's biggest hit, "Blueberry Hill" peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and at #6 here in the UK in 1956. However, it was written and first recorded in 1940, but not as a rock 'n' roll style song. The biggest 1940 hit was by Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, but there were at least five others, including one by 1940s singing cowboy, Gene Autrey.
