Growing up, my parents did not allow us to listen to secular music in the house, so I would go down to my friends house, either Chuckie or Darrell to listen to my favorite groups such as, #TheJackson5 (I want You Back), #TheStylistics (Betcha by Golly Wow) and #TheDramatics (Be My Girl). So when I started becoming a serious songwriter, I think some of the R&B sound sort of rubbed off on me…lol…and could be the reason Ronald and Marvin would roll up fake cigarettes and pretend to smoke when I presented my songs to The Winans group when we were recording 🎶 !
I still have a love for writing songs today and stay true to being me!
