story:
Okay, so in S2 Ep. 1 The Collector, everything is the same, except Adrien takes it upon himself to find the book. (Marinette doesn't return it) So to prove to his father that he is capable, Adrien transforms into Chat and leaves during the night to hunt down the book. He won't return until he finds it.
Gabrielle finds him missing in the morning, and alerts that Adrien has been kidnapped or ran away, (that's what he thinks)
Chat Noir, meanwhile, is searching throughout Paris without Ladybugs help because he wants to fix this mistake by himself. All the while, he is thinking of how he will return with the book and Gabrielle will be proud. Finally, he finds the book in the park in the trashcan and does a victory dance to celebrate. Now he imagines his father beaming with pride and joy and can't wait to return.
