"Back Door Santa" by Clarence Carter - 7" Single (1968)
Atlantic Records
"May this blessed
yuletide find you in
the warm, loving
hands of family
and friends. BUT,
once the kiddies
are off to bed and
all seems quiet...
...don't take
SILENT NIGHT
for granted.
Slide the deadbolt
on that back door.
Nome sayne?"
- Devon Beuschel

Clarence George Carter (born January 14, 1936) is an American blues and soul singer, musician, songwriter and record producer. His most successful records included "Slip Away", "Back Door Santa", "Too Weak to Fight", "Patches" (1970), and "Strokin'" (1985).
"Back Door Santa" is a song written by Clarence Carter and Marcus Daniel, and originally performed by Carter. It was released as single in 1968 and included on the compilation album Soul Christmas that same year. The track is in a 12-bar blues format. The lyrics are sexually suggestive, not having much to do with Christmas as a holiday.
