Description
One of several Warner Bros detective shows that came along in the late 50s, 'Hawaiian Eye' (1959) was second only to '77 Sunset Strip' in longevity. Over four seasons Robert Conrad and Anthony Eisley solved standard WB criminal cases with pals Connie Stevens and Poncie Ponce. Grant Williams came on board in the latter half of season two; Troy Donahue replaced Eisley in season four. Connie Stevens was the local songstress but also got involved in the plots now and then. The theme is by Jerry Livingston and Mack David who also came up with '77 Sunset Strip'.
00:00 Opening titles, season one.
00:38 Episode intro, season one.
01:13 End credits, season one.
02:25 Opening titles, season two. The shots of the stars surfing look real, but I suspect someone is doubling Connie Stevens in the three-shot.
03:03 Opening titles, season four.
03:35 Episode intro, season four.
03:47 End credits, season four.
04:49 BONUS: Arthur Lyman, who performed at the real Shell Bar in Hawaii, joins Connie Stevens in a fab rendition of the theme song. ('77' did something similar in one episode.)
