In 1985, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of our charter , the College of Charleston commissioned a song to mark the special occasion.
Performed by Grammy-nominated recording artist Dave Loggins, the song “Finding Roots and Gaining Wings” was inspired by a speech given by former College president Edward Collins Jr. about the College’s storied past and its bright future.
