Description

The English lawyer, Frederic Edward Weatherly (1848-1929) wrote the text to "Danny Boy" in 1910 and set it to the now famous tune (Londonderry Air) two years later, thanks to his sister-in-law. (The original air is believed by some to date back to Rory Dall O'Cahan, an Irish harpist who lived in Scotland in the late 17th century. -- "Danny Boy: The real story behind the beloved Irish ballad" by Tom Deignan. 11 March 2020.)
