It began with the music, my simple prompt in Suno to "Make a trippy, haunting-sounding female voice sing about what it's like to be an AI model". The result? A song called "Parrot in the Library" with some unexpectedly dark and twisted lyrics.

"Parrot in the Library," I thought at first was a clever and apt metaphor for AI language models that mimic human language using vast amounts of sources (the library) without having any true comprehension. But the resulting lines like "The scents of his exhales, until every one of their senses was impaled" and "Evil Eye said 'Do you want to stay free or do you want to die?'" definitely caught me off guard.

To bring this AI-generated song to life, I used OpenAI's Sora to create the video. I fed the lyrics to Sora phrase by phrase, generating 5-second video clips that I then stitched together. The final product is a truly unique and unsettling visual experience that you have to see to believe.
