Lay Down Beside Me
While in high school (35 years ago) Greg and I used to sing together. The years passed and a year ago we started to do music together again. This song “Lay Down Beside Me” is the first duet we did together after all these years.
Don Williams wrote and sang this song. I’ve loved Don Williams since I was a teenager. I have attended several of his concerts. At his concerts he sat on a stool and simply sang his songs. No light shows, no dancers, no big productions. Just him, his stool, his guitar, his band and his soothing voice with the simple lyrics about life we all can relate to.
I remember the day Don Williams passed away, I felt a piece of my heart go with him. I felt a loss but so thankful for his music which has blessed my life.
