Elly Ameling has been for many years my favorite soprano. I fell in love with her voice when I heard this vinyl at the music library in the North Carolina School of the Arts, back in 1992 when I was taking my Bachelor of Music Composition degree. She is famous for her carefully placed cristal clear high notes, and her masterful interpretations of Art Songs.
All the paintings in this video are by the English painter John William Waterhouse (1849-1917).
