A glimpse into the powerhouse that Ervin Nyiregyházi must have been in his youth, in this recording, he was only 26.
It is truly an incredible performance: deeply personal, highly creative, with a rhythmic drive that is nothing short of electrifying. His technique shows no weakness whatsoever, making this probably my favourite recording of this étude. I only wish more recordings from his early period had been made...
