10 years ago I released an album called "Illumination", and 2022 marked the 10th anniversary of that special release. I always had it in the back of my mind that one day I would create a magical music video for my song "Etude For the Dreamer" from that album, and though I can't believe it took 10 years to finally do it, I'm really proud of the result.

I spent over a year on this video - from pre-production, set design, filming, and refining the concept and storyline. You can watch my "Behind the Scenes" video for this to learn more about that process.

I was inspired by the lockdown of the pandemic - and what I personally felt was a lot of worry, anxiety, panic, and doom. Every time I would turn on the news, it just felt like it was getting worse. I experienced my own sets of panic attacks during that, and often music was an escape for me. I would go to my piano and transport myself to fantastical worlds of color and dreams.

ETUDE FOR THE DREAMER synopsis:
With the stress of everything that has happened in the world these past few years, and is currently happening - it can leave one feeling full of anxiety. It can be hard to find light and hope. The news always seems to be bad, and I definitely personally experienced my own set of panic attacks during the past two years.

Music was an escape for me though - and I found myself escaping to fantastical worlds of color and imagination through my music and my mind.

In my new music video for "Etude For the Dreamer" (from Illumination) you see my character leave the real world and go into a land of dreams. What she finds there are not only fairy tales but alternate versions of her own reality, and in the end she finds that she has the ability to shape her own reality.

Take off the glasses and really take a look. The magic is already before you.
