Sketches of Life in North China Ethnic Areas is a yueqin (high-pitched moon lute) concerto composed in the end of the 1970s by Liu Xijin, now the Principal of Beijing Central Opera House. This four-movements concerto is titled with activities of four ethnic people. Fishing Song is the third one, inspired by folksongs of Hezhe People (Northeast China). This is an arrangement for Western string orchestra, yangqin, dizi. The solo part was played on liuqin, coupled with a vocal addition in the end.
