Written by Bill Conti and Mick Leeson for the 1981 movie of the same name, it was performed by Sheena Easton (who also appears singing it in the opening credits of said movie).

Apparently the composer(s) had someone other than Easton in mind for the song, such as Dusty Springfield or Donna Summer, and even apparently requested punk group #blondie to write their own song under the same title (which was eventually recorded independently by the group in any case).

The song went to number one in the Netherlands, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 54th #academyawards (among several other nominations) and remains one of Easton's biggest hits.
