💿 This month, the Funky Space Probe leaves the Solar System behind and tunes in from Proxima Centauri b. It’s the closest known exoplanet to Earth and it orbits its star, Proxima Centauri, just 4.24 light-years away.
Proxima b is a rocky planet about the size of Earth. Locked in a tight orbit around its red dwarf star, one side may face eternal daylight, the other endless night. The perfect setup for a moody and groovy transmission.
Scientists don’t yet know if Proxima b has an atmosphere or even life, but that hasn’t stopped the Funky Space Probe from broadcasting there. This month's transmission shines a spotlight on French Touch, the iconic wave of house music that put France on the global dance map. Expect groovy basslines and filtered disco loops.
🛰️ After years of trying to find life in space, human beings are desperate. In a unanimous decision, they decided to send a probe across the universe to spread the best disco, funk, and house music —hoping that someone out there would hear it and make contact. Every month, a transmission reaches us, humans, delivering the mix the probe has crafted and broadcast from a location in the universe. You're listening to the seventh transmission right now.
