  Well, I'd written that female part in the song and I had attempted it with a few different vocalists and wasn't sort of really working out completely. And then François Tétaz, who I mix my records with, he suggested yeah, asking Kimbra, and it was from the second we demoed some vocals together, it was really clear that she was gonna do something really special.
I think there's an extraordinary vulnerability to the song. Um, somebody that I used to know. It's very honest. I mean, I didn't predict it would be as big as it has become, but I definitely, first time I heard it, I knew that it would, um, kind of, yeah.
