Matt Monro (1930 - 1985) was an English singer who became one of the most popular entertainers in the international scene in the 1960s. I saw him perform at a packed coliseum iin Manila in 1966. With the re-surging wave of retro-pop, many current singers have cited Matt Monro as a strong influence on their singing styles. He sold more than 100 million records during his career that lasted for 30 years.
Autumn Leaves" is probably the most recorded love song. Originally a song titled Les Feuilles Mortes (literally "The Dead Leaves"), it became a pop and jazz standard when the American songwriter Johnny Mercer wrote the English lyrics in 1947.
