To make this lei we used 5 whole softened ti leaves for the ti leaf rope and 5 whole ti leaves cut up as fresh pieces to make a double maile lei. You can use this same method to make a ti leaf rope lei by not adding in any fresh pieces or a single ti leaf maile lei by adding in less fresh pieces.
