The Awa Odori is a traditional Japanese dance that began over 430 years ago in Tokushima prefecture. You can experience Awa Odori year-round at the Awa Odori Kaikan (Hall) (https://www.awaodori-kaikan.jp/ ), a 10-minute walk from JR Tokushima Station. The hall offers a dance performance, a chance to try dancing yourself on stage, a museum to learn about the tradition's origins, souvenir shopping, and even a ride on the Bizan ropeway — all in one building.
