After days hidden in the dunes, I finally caught this shy yellow‑eyed penguin - an iconic, endangered species.
These remarkable birds are now endangered, with their mainland population down over 75 %.
Watching it emerge from the surf and wander the dunes felt magical, yet fragile. These hoiho need our help before they vanish entirely.
