Description
The band was formed in the early 1970's by founder, drummer and lead vocalist, Bill Curtis, as The Fatback Band. In 1978, the name was shortened to Fatback and they hit it big with, I Like Girls, which peaked at #7 on the Cash Box chart, week ending 8/19/78. Fatback was a popular band on the New York club scene, combining their funk roots with disco and incorporating some ballads into their act as well.
