Illa J & Ash Walker are both Proactive artists in their own rights having had numerous solo projects released over almost two decades. Illa J is the younger brother of the late J Dilla (RIP). After a chance introduction, they formed 'Jaywalk & The Cadillacs'. Here we discuss their meeting and collision of like minds that has led to ongoing projects under the umbrella of BBE, but we also touch on Illa J & Ash's individual journeys, talk a little on the role fashion plays in their musical careers, get a little insight into both their backgrounds, and of course having the inevitable discussion with Illa J regarding his brother and the effects of his untimely passing on his own career.
