Here is a song I created to help my 6th grade students study. I hope you enjoy.

It's time for insects and bugs
All the species there's somewhere between 10 and 30 million
Body parts there are three
In all the places from beetles to ants and bees

Egg, larva, pupa, and adult stage
Metamorphosis they will change
Incomplete is when there's no pupa, that's right

They have no bones inside
Head, abdomen, thorax
From eggs insects will hatch
They all have compound eyes
There's two antennae
Some have wings to fly

Of insects and humans
'Cause for all of the people living 200 million (insects)
Flies, mosquitoes, and fleas
In many of places, can carry a deadly disease

Many of insects they are harmless
Bees make honey, silkworms will spin
Butterflies and flies carry pollen that's right

They have no bones inside
Head, abdomen, thorax
From eggs insects will hatch

Some have wings to fly

If alive or once was living
Insects they will eat, they're feeding
Look not found, you keep trying
Camouflage insects are blending
If they're found, insects defending
Running with their feet or flying
Exoskeleton protects them
Hornets, wasps, and bees are stinging
