Description

Track 6 from his second album “For Everyman” released in 1973 copyright Asylum Records. It was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, Studio One in Doraville, Georgia and Wally Heider Studios in Los Angeles. This album was the first to feature David Lindley, a multi-instrumentalist who would also appear on four more of Browne’s albums. It also featured a number of the best musicians of the day. "Take It Easy" written with Glenn Frey had been released the year before as The Eagle's first single. Several artists had recorded the song "These Days" but Browne felt that Gregg Allman's version had captured the essence of the song the best so he used Allman's arrangement for his first recorded version. The album received above average reviews and was considered a worthy follow-up to his debut, with improved vocal technique and song writing. It reached No. 43 on the Billboard album chart and achieved Gold status in 1975. It was certified Platinum in 1989. Written and produced by Jackson Browne. RIP Pete Kleinow, Wilton Felder, Glenn Frey, Mickey McGee & David Lindley. Featuring:

Pretty little one, how has it all begun?
They're teachin' you how to walk but you're already on the run
Little one, what you gonna do?
Little one, honey, it's all up to you

Now your Daddy's in the den shootin' up the evenin' news
Mama's with a friend, lately she's been so confused
Little one, come on and take my hand
Well, I may not have the answers but I believe I got a plan

(Well, Honey, you shake, I'll rattle and we'll roll on down the line)
(And see if we can't get in touch with a very close friend of mine)
(Well, let me clue you in, it ain't like him to argue or pretend)
(Honey, let me introduce you to my redneck friend)

Well, they got a little list of all those things of which they don't approve
Well, they gotta keep their eyes on you or you might make your move
Little one, I really wish you would
Little one, I think the damage would do you good

(Well, Honey, you shake, I'll rattle and we'll roll on down the line)
(Gonna forget all about the battle, it's gonna feel so fine)
('Cause he's the missing link, the kitchen sink, eleven on a scale of ten)
(Honey, let me introduce you to my redneck friend)

(Honey, you shake, I'll rattle and we'll roll on down the line)
(Gonna try to swing you up into my saddle and then we'll run but you'll think we're flyin')
(Honey, don't just stand there lookin' like this dream will never end)
(Honey, let me introduce you to my redneck friend) I said
(Honey, let me introduce you to my redneck friend)
