"Jamaica Farewell" is a Jamaican-style folk song about the beauties of the West Indian Islands. The song first appeared on Harry Belafonte's phenomenally successful album Calypso. It reached number fourteen on the Billboard Pop chart.
Ranjan Prasad translated the song in bengali which is as melodic as the original. Ranjan Prashad is performing the song with Bula da aka Pradip Chatterjee performing the flute in an event Mohin ekhon o bondhura in Trighuna Sen Auditorium in Jadavpur University. A show is organised by Cafe Kabira.
