Description
To call this a reggae-tinged cover of a Johnny Cash song does Jeb Loy Nichols' unique interpretation a great injustice. Elements of reggae and dub are definitely prominent, but more than anything it is the feeling of dread conjured by Nichols that permeates the song and elevates it beyond mere cover status. Nichols makes this song his own (and as a huge admirer of Johnny Cash I do not make that statement offhandedly).
