From a stark demo of the song (piano & lead vocal only) Jesse recorded for Swing Time label owner Jack Lauderdale in (I believe) late 1954 to the finished product (with Bobby Relf & The Laurels backing him up), which was recorded in March & released in October of 1955 for Specialty (Specialty 559).
