Back in 1990, I came to Japan as a 26-year-old music instrument builder. Romance wasn’t in my plans — until one evening in Hirosaki changed everything.
While working on a project in Hirosaki, a kind office lady took an interest in our work, visiting us daily and bringing smiles (and coffee). After a few dinners together, she brought me to a cozy bar one evening and sang 「Koi ni Ochite」 (Fall in Love) by Akiko Kobayashi.
That moment changed everything. I melted — heart, soul, and all.

35 years have passed since that song first wrapped around us like a warm embrace. We're now husband and wife, and she still sings it while I play the accompaniment.
This video shows the DAW recreation of that timeless moment — a little musical window into the beginning of our story.
It's a cover version featuring her actual vocal performance, backed by a fully re-created track — a personal labor of love.
