Description
Commonly referred to as the Tetris theme song, Korobeiniki (The Peddlers) is a poem made by Nikolay Nekrasov, which was first printed in 1871.
It speaks about a peddler and a peasant named Katya who had developed romantic relations. Katya rejected all of the peddler's gifts apart from a Turquoise ring, reasoning that acquiring his wares but not him would be unbearable. The peddler pledges to marry her after selling his goods at the market. After a successful day, he returns home, but was killed and robbed by a forest ranger on his journey.
